In cognitive radio networks, a group of secondary users, in the absence of primary users, try to use the spectrum without causing interference by using the opportunistic access technique. However, the sudden return of primary users to the spectrum causes user interference and increases the number of channel switching in a dynamic environment. In this case, analytical methods such as Markov, game theory, etc. are used to predict the mobility of the spectrum. Besides, since cognitive radio networks are used in different platforms such as mobile networks, user mobility can increase the inherent instability of cognitive radio networks and lead to some problems such as routing challenges. Thus, to solve these challenges, this study developed a reactive routing protocol that has some advantages: (1) Using cognitive radio capabilities and movement and intersection models, (2) reducing the number of channel switching, (3) preventing user interference, (4) using the AODV availability of channels, (5) not using the common control channel, and (6) creating a stable path using link expiration time (LET) calculation. This protocol was developed as a reliable and cost-effective method for networks with mobile nodes.
